As the fourth installment of the “J-POP REMAKE” project, which features official remakes of classic Japanese songs by Korean artists, our company has released Roy Kim’s remake of RADWIMPS’ iconic hit “Sparkle” worldwide simultaneously from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11. The original song, which continues to be loved both in Japan and overseas as a featured song in the 2016 animated film Your Name., has been reworked into Korean lyrics by Roy Kim himself and lyricist Isran. While preserving the original song’s poignant and deeply moving world, the remake brings out a new appeal through Roy Kim’s signature warm, delicate, and deeply expressive vocals. Furthermore, the music video features figure skater Cha Jun-hwan and rising actress Seo Soo-min. Set in a bookstore, it portrays a fresh coming-of-age romance in which two people who meet by chance gradually open their hearts to each other.
